Don Schuch was raised in the construction business by Clyde Smith.  Mr. Smith was the founder and owner of Water Construction back in the 50's, 60's, and 70's.  Don worked his way through the University of Texas at Water Construction.  While at Texas, Don earned a degree in Civil Engineering.

Don is co-founder of Matous Construction and currently serves at President.  Don also serves as the Chief Estimator and is a Senior Project Manager.  Don's 35+ years of experience make him a very valuable part of our team.

Don was born and raised in Austin, Texas and currently lives in South Austin with his wife Sandy, and their two sons.  Don owns a ranch in South Texas and spends most of his free time working on his ranch.  Don is considered a big game hunter and has made several trips to various parts of Africa hunting.  He also loves saltwater fishing and watching his youngest son play collegiate baseball.
